Help Shape the Future of the Pathway to Local Public Health Program!

Help Shape the Future of the Pathway to Local Public Health Program!

The MA Health Officers Association (MHOA) is seeking local public health professionals to participate in a 45-minute group interview to help inform the development of the Pathway to Local Public Health (PLPH) program.

These interviews, hosted by Public Consulting Group (PCG), with support from MHOA, will collect insights to direct the design of this program, focusing on how MHOA can develop and recruit participants to a program that meets the needs of students, institutions of higher education, and local public health. This process is intentionally designed so that participants can share openly.

Your input and experiences are invaluable in shaping a program that will support and develop the local public health workforce while helping to address more immediate staffing needs of local health departments.

We hope you will participate by signing up for an interview using the link below:

About the PLPH:
PLPH is a long-term placement pilot program designed specifically for currently enrolled community college students who are interested in pursuing a career in local public health. Participants are placed in a nearby Health Department and spend 6-12 months learning the necessary skills and knowledge needed to be a Health Inspector in Massachusetts. This program is designed to have participants become competitive, qualified, and confident candidates by the time they are ready to enter the public health workforce full-time.
